Medical Assisting Externships

Announcing a new medical assisting externship agreement with Covenant Medical Group!

Students at West Texas Professional Training are required to perform 30 hours of externship at one of our contracted extern sites, or any other medical provider in partial fulfillment of graduation requirements.

Externships allow medical assisting students the ability to learn on the job training, and learn specifically what kind of medical setting they’re interested in. There’s also a high chance externs are later hired at their specific extern sites!

We’ve contracted with Covenant Medical Group here in Lubbock, Texas to provide externship opportunities with over a hundred medical providers. After the students complete their career and resume clinics, they are expected to apply for an extern of their choosing at week 5 of the program.
